The application developed by the Design + Systems research centre focuses on the KBA AlphaJET - a printer for product labelling. AI-supported tools illustrate functions, operation and maintenance and support sales and service in an innovative way.‍

Kyana (the integrated AI) answers questions about the use and maintenance of the device by voice or text input. It provides statistical analyses and impresses with natural voice output.‍

Augmented reality gives Kyana a spatial presence and adds interactive information to the hardware. A controllable virtual conveyor belt impressively illustrates the printing process.‍The combination of an AR see-through headset with intuitive gesture control is unique. Users open virtual menus and interact directly with the AlphaJET. In remote maintenance scenarios, hand movements are transferred to a tablet app in real time, allowing service staff and customers to communicate seamlessly over long distances.
